In 1 John 1:7, It states,
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin."
God designed our body to function best when we honor natural light cycles.
When we wake up and expose ourselves to morning sunlight, our body gets the signal to flush out toxins accumulated overnight. This happens through:
Liver detoxification – The liver works hardest at night, and morning sunlight helps signal a new metabolic cycle.
Hydration & elimination – Natural light supports digestion and the release of waste, keeping our gut functioning properly.
Cortisol balance – Exposure to morning sunlight helps regulate cortisol, the hormone that jumpstarts metabolism and energy for the day.
2. Evening Darkness: God’s Built-in Cleansing Time
Detoxification happens most efficiently at night when melatonin, the sleep hormone, is released.
Melatonin acts as an antioxidant, supporting brain detox and cellular repair.
The glymphatic system in the brain flushes out toxins while we sleep—like a spiritual renewal for our minds.
Deep sleep is when the liver completes its detox cycle, reinforcing why rest is sacred and necessary.
1 John 1:7 reminds us that walking in the light brings purification—not just spiritually, but physically. Honoring God’s natural light-dark rhythms allows our bodies to work as He intended, leading to:
👉 More energy and mental clarity
👉 Stronger digestion and liver health
👉 A deeper sense of renewal—physically and spiritually
God didn’t just create light for visibility—He designed it as a tool for healing and renewal. When we embrace morning sunlight, reduce artificial light at night, and honor the rest He calls us to, we allow our bodies to detox, restore, and thrive.
